What programer to get

My buddie has a o8 6.7l and is looking for a programmer, I thought a Smarty would be the way to go but cannot find one for this app, do you guys have any suggestions?

watch doing a programmer and not deleting the emmisions parts on the exhaust it will eventually cause the dpf to soot and probably the turbo too, but the best combo is doing turbo back exhaust and the edge attitude/juice box

I should have said that hes gonna delet the DPF. The only option that he has seen so far has been the edge, and I was thinking that there must be more?

there are bully dog, ppe, superchips etc, just most people go for the edge because it can clear codes on start up, and not all prgrammers have a added gauge use like the edge does.

Is there anything that gives power above the rest? Like Smarty for the 5.9, EFILive for the duramax, Spartan or SCT for the Powerstroke? He's kinda the bigger and best type, he also already has gauges.

The Smarty is said to be made with the DPF still in place although it is listed as coming soon on Mads site. I know someone one here dynoed their truck with both edge and bully dog pmt and the PMT laid down slightly better numbers. I do beleive more people run edge as it is been more reliable. Also the Edge/MP-8 Stack is said to be really awesome and laying down good numbers. There are a few guys that run this stack on here so hopefully they will chime in. Hope this helps.

well i did hear spartan is coming out with a tuner for the 6.7 in early febuary....... but that is hear say............. tell him to do the edge juice w/attitude hot unlock and stack a power puck or a mp-8 with it.......... awsome power and very reliable

Alot of people tell me they run the edge is cause of all the safety features it doesnt give full timing and fuel till it reaches 170* to me that is a motor saver right there. Im about a week from getting the mp-8 and i cant wait alot of happy people out there with alot of diff combos. Did talk to an edge tech he said he heard rumors of edge making a bigger tune around 140-160hp for the 6.7 if thats true im in for it. Im just tired of waiting for smarty and bully dog to release the big tunes as far as i know the bullydog only has a 75hp tune right know could be wrong though stuff changes to quick around here except for smarty lol

The pmt has actually put down better numbers on the dyno than edge. Problem with it is it bucks and surges like a rollercoaster in extreme. I'm sure they'll figure it out, but for the time being my money would stay with edge. The pmt will also flash your truck to what it needs for the tune your loading, and that's a dead give away at the dealer. If you go in with a different flash than what dodge has you documented with it ain't hard to figure out. You could however figure out what flash you need for a tune, and have the dealer flash it for you, as long as it dosen't have to go back a flash. That's another thing once the pmt reflashes it can't take you back. I think bullydog can help you go back over the phone, but sounds like a pain to do. I'm not bashing the pmt, it just seems to me they still have bugs to work out.
