Pro's and Con's

I am thinking about getting a new truck and want to know all the pros and cons of all the new trucks. I am going to make this thread on all three forums (ford, dodge, gm).

I am basically wanting to know about the issues that have been common with the new trucks and real world MPG. I do know more about the dodge's and ford's than the gms.

Dodge: 17+ mpg can be had, DPF get clogged up from idling...
Ford: a ton of 12/13 MPG trucks out there, radiator problems...
GM: ?

Those are the types of things I am looking for. If you want say what you think is great about each or bad about each.

Dodge Pros:
CUMMINS
Factory Exhaust Brake
Did I say CUMMINS already?
I could go on but there's really no need. CUMMINS says it all.
Only con would be they have the most complex emissions systems. They are all having thier problems with emissions, but dodge has seemed to have the most. They have gotten alot better since the early 07.5's though. Plus they are easily defeated, and it can be done in many different ways, depending on how much money you want to spend.

12 mega dually. garbage gone. mini with od.

pros : great truck with lots of power , CUMMINS engine , factory exhaust brake , and the dodge finally has a great transmission whether auto or manual .
cons : smog system ( but they seem to be giving much fewer problems now even the 07.5 like i have )
cummins engines have been around since the early 1900's and are used in a lot of commercial applications . the inline six cummins also has about 50% less moving parts as a comparable v-8 .

started with 1996 2500 4x4 auto
then a 2004.5 2500 4x4
now have a 2007.5 6.7 4x4 3500 drw mega cab 3:73 rear G56

If you are thinking about a 6.7 I would highly recommend getting a 3500-4500-5500 chassis cab with the Aisin. It's built just as tough as the Allison. Maybe tougher, it does have a triple disk torque converter stock.

We could talk about Pros and Cons until our fingers bleed.
