Where does everyone fill up

Does it matter which gas station I get my diesel fuel from? Should I stay away from a particular name brand?

Country Mark Co-Op here, I do avoid gas stations at wal-mart...just make sure that where you get it, goes through a lot of fuel so it doesn't sit in the tanks for long time...

Fuel is ***** no matter where your getting it. It's just the way it has gotten, and that's why I run extra filters. Places that sell lot's of it are better though. Just my opinion.

A while back I saw a report from (IIRC) the DOE that stated Sunoco used primarily Venuzualin oil, and Hess uses primarily Ukrainian oill, so I try to stick to those. In other words I try to keep my money away from the middle east. As mentioned before though places that sell a lot of fuel are more "reliable" in terms of fewer issues due to fuel sitting to long or contamination.

Man just look at the volume of fuel the stations go through, they are better maintained and they have the filters changed much more often, walmart has the cheapest gas but that isn't always the best one to pick!!!!

The link is where I got my setup. I did talk them down to $225. It has no pump or anything like fass or airdog, and it just bolts right up in front of the tank, and you run the lines to it. Some have wondered about the extra stress on the factory pump having to pull fuel through 2 more filters, but in the long run if the factory pump fails, it's alot cheaper than injectors. I notice no difference in it other than extra satifsfaction of knowing fuel is getting filtered better. It comes with fleetguard water/sep, and a fleetguard 2 micron filter. I have changed them to luber finer filters which I got at the local cummins dealer for $6.50 a piece. Pretty cheap insurance! Below is a pic.

Also, if you have a quad cab short box, you do need to drop one side of the tank. Long boxes and mega cabs you don't have to.
