egr delete ?

one the supervisors i work with just bought a new work/personal pickup an 08 mega cab 2500 4x4 leveling kit airbags on the back 35 inch bfg mt2s some sort of aftermarket stabilizer my ? is he is thinking of doing a dpf delete but does not want to do the egr is their anything wrong with that the load on the truck is sometimes 100 gallons of diesel and a bumper hitch trailer maybe weighing 7500 pounds probably less than that

You can just do a dpf delete if that's all you want, but the egr is killing the truck worse. Why don't he want to do the egr? You know you can just unplug it if you have the newer flashes.

12 mega dually. garbage gone. mini with od.

i think he likes the egr cause the truck warms up so good in the winter

maybe it might make him think if he just unbolted the egr valve and looked at all of the soot in it. I was shocked to see all of it when I pulled mine off, reasonably the soot a crud that he will see in it is being dumped right back in the top of the motor.

I would weigh the issue taking 5 min. to warm up or my truck lasting longer , hmmm which one is more important?

uhhhh.. have him get the high idle feature enabled (through starscan), and if he is willing to do the exhaust, the egr should be a given! why would anyone want to pump a load of soot back into their motor? i would do the egr first (and did), then the exhaust and any other mods. the high idle (real high idle) will warm the truck up extremely fast. faster than he has experienced yet.
