Auto Tranny help

So i'm thinking my tranny is goin. It cant decide what gear it wants when im at higher speeds like sixty to ninety. I was just wonderin if anyone has had this happen or if anyone has some input on a good build for one.

I know easy roasted his trans and had it replace. As far as I know there is not a lot of choice for the 68rfe other than a stock replacement..

Might want to check with Dave Goerand. I think he has stuff out for the new tranny, but am not 100% sure of that.

Is it slipping at all? I don't know about the 68re but the 48re is a gear huntin motha especially with power mods. Mine is no longer a stock tranny and the gear hunting is actually worse. It never knows what gear it wants to be in especially at higher speeds. It will shift in and out of overdrive. I finally just pushed the OD button off till I hit 85 then turn it on and let it shift. Works great for me and the EGT's stay lower with the pattern too.

I'm exaggerating a little but it is a common problem. When mine went it out is started slipping like crazy.

X3, but I'm not sure on the 68 yet. Definatly worth a phone call to find out. I think suncoast has one, but I'm not sure it's built much better than stock.

I went down south last weekend and it was fine all the way down but on the way up it had a hard time goin past eighty five then it just stuck it fourth so i had to pull over and shut it off and restart it and it was fine after that. Its almost like it goes into limp home mode. But no engine light. The guys ive talked to here say the tranny is goin.

That ain't good. Stuck in forth is a limp mode for the tranny I believe. Do you have a temp gauge, and what was it if you do? I know of one other guy that had the same issues just as your describing, and he needed a new tranny. He had 158,000 miles though, and pulled hard on everyone of them.
