fuel pressure problem?

Ok, the other day I had the edge on 3 and the mp all the way up and I got on it hard in sixth and a warning to take my truck to the dealer for service came up and a mil code of low fuel rail pressure came up so what gives, I cleared the code and it hasn't come back up yet but I am wondering if I need to work on something, any help would be appreciated...

Whoops didn't see the word "rail" in your post. I thought you said just low fuel pressure. Now I'm not sure. CP3 maybe??

Maybe. Just a question here, did you shim the relief plug when installing the mp-8? I'm not really sure what, or how it effects things, but have read some trucks don't like it if you don't. Or maybe something is leaking. I'm really just guessing here, but trying to help.

Garage
sounds like your drained the rail..can you test things out by setting to stock and dogging on it see if it holds. the slowly work up with both chips to see what the truck likes? Others have ran this setup with good results so maybe fuzzy is on to something with the shim seems like they may be a starting place. just a thought. you could also install a rail press guage, I know a few vendors have them. let us know what you find out.

Nothing new was found on the truck to be missing or having problems but talked to a couple of local guys and they confirmed my thought about draining the rail and it won't change with the level I have the mp8 on meaning it will cause it to happen on a 0 setting because of the rail plug, the stock pump can't keep up with the rail now at wide open throttle. so I guess i need to be easy on her until i drop the coin into a better fuel system...
