Quick launch ?

I bought my first diesel last year and I am relling liking it since I seem to have most of the bugs out of it but I am having problems with trying to get a quick take off. I was wondering if some of you could give me an idea on the best way to get a quick launch off the line. I've got the 07 with the 6.7, extended cab and 4wd.

Best thing you can do is lock it in 4wd, high of course. Then proceed to power brake. Obviously, you wont break your tires loose but you will spool your turbo up. I launched mine at 15 psi of boost. You will crap yourself when you see how quick it is off the line with a boosted launch. Be careful not to boost for too long with out launching though. I roasted my tranny doing this. It just gets too hot.

If you stick it to the floor, it'll spool and if it doesn't it's somthing in the new proggramming because I could spool mine when it was stock.

HAHAH. Gitr' done! The tranney was fine after I learned what I was doing. I actually burned a tranny down with a thousand miles on the truck. I let my truck spool too long waiting for a light to change while racing my coworker. It super heated and weled the clutch pack together. That's why I say, don't spool for too long and watch those tranny temps!!
But after that, the tranny did awesome. I put 87,000 more miles on the truck after that with out a single problem. I will note that I'm not easy on my trucks so that many miles with out a problem is pretty remarkable!

Under normal conditions between 170-190 depending on if I was towing. When it burnt down the edge read 235 and was still climbing but I shut it off. HOT!!!

Thanks for the info. Everytime I tried to spool it up by braking it, when I did take off all that happened was 150 of tire rubber was left behind and I would have to let off it to go. First time I get a chance I'll try this. One more question that I have is what happens to the 4wd when you hit the high speed, anything?

I knew I forgot something. I don't know about everyone else but I always tried to shift in back to 2wd around 50 mph. BUt to be honest, I have ran a full 1/4 mile in 4wd up to 96 mph and nothing happened. However, I do not reccomend this! lol
