gutting dpf

has any body tried gutting the dpf like we use to do cats. i was wondering if it would set a code or not? now

that i have a extra dpf.

If you dont fool the computer, you WILL throw codes. The computer has too many parameters to follow, you need to fool the computer into thinking everything is still there. Going to the trouble to gut the DPF would be worth it for looks only, it would look factory, but bolting a piece of pipe in its place would be SO much easier. It was for me.

08 Quad cab, 4x4, Cab and Chassis, 6 spd Aisin, 2.5" leveling kit, 285/70/17 BFG's, 1971 SA-200, Edge Insight, H&S XRT, and a few missing parts!!

How come no one is able to reprogram the computer to delete the egr & dpf. I would think the Geek Squad would be all over this. I would rather pay someone to reprogram my computer than having to buy a programmer to fool the computer.

I think fooling is less difficult than writting a whole new program...wouldn't you say?

yeah just put in a straight pipe in cuz it would be a huge pain to try and gut it. reprogramming is kind of not an option because there are just too many algorythms and parameters to program into it. much easier to fool it or clear the codes like the edge does

Smarty and XRT do reprogramming the computer to turn off egr/dpf.

12 mega dually. garbage gone. mini with od.
