IMO a 6" lift looks good on the quad cab and an 8" looks good on a mega or long bed. The problem is 8 is almost too high to use it for anything. Heck 6" with 37's is stretching it. I settled in on a 6" with 35's. It looked a little better with 37's but the power and mileage is better with the 35's. I'm always torn on this subject.

I guess I should ask what are you trying to get out of the lift and do you use the truck for anything other than daily driving?

I myself think anything over 35s are worthles but thats just me i no that tuff country has a 4.5" kit that is easy to instal and you fit 35s nice and the ride dont get any ruffer and they arent very expensive but thats me.

I had a 98 2500 extended cab that I put a 5.5 inch skyjacker soft ride on and a set of 36's under. It was a sharp looking truck but the truck was really only good for bumber pull trailers and a long drop reciever. I have to say that I had problems with the tires in ride performance and in getting milage out of them. But I loved the looks!!!

Well, I have a friend with an 06 long bed 2500 4x4 5.9. with a 4" lift and 35" tires. He pulls a 30' bumper around the country going from job to job. He had the truck regeared to 4:56's to pull the trailer and get better mileage. Pulls great now with plenty of power.
The 35" tires hurt performance and pulling power. You need the gears to go with big tires. But, for the mall crawlers it's OK. But, if you use the truck. gear it for the larger tires.
I am into 4x4 rockcrawling. All the power in the world is useless if you don't have the right gears.

If it were me and you wanted it lifted I would look at something around the 4in area..not to tall but not stock..I also would agree that anything over 35's are overkill unless the truck is off road. since its your daily driver also consider the loss in MPG will the lift and larger tires. I do think it would look pretty sick on 4in/with 35s though..I guess since I tow so much I lost interest in lifts..but Brandon when you make a decision I wanna see the pics bud...

Carli makes some really awesome stuff. This is what I'm going to put on my truck when I save up enough funds for the tires to go with it. It adds about 3.5" to the truck.

HERE is a truck with that same lift and 35X12.50R18s.
