exhaust brake

i tried to look it up but couldnt find it. is the 6.7 exhaust brakea butterfly valve like the aftermarket ones or does it us the VGT to do it?

it uses the VGT as the exhaust break..hence loosing exhaust break is a sign of sooted turbo from egr system.

i knew it! thats why it whistles like my exhaust brake tune on my 6.0.

Mine does not whistle anymore when its warm my buddys can be full operating temp and his whistles all day if its on. But mine only does it on a cold start up until it warms up once its warm it stops. But is still affective as far as slowing down it just does not whistle anymore like sitting at a light. Hope this makes since kinda hard to explain

..I think mine might be clogged. It is locking. I hit the go pedal and it worked fine until the shift and then "burrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr........buuuuuu..burrrrrrr rrr" the exhaust brake was ON while the go pedal was on the floor!
