To answer your first question I have heard of less Dmaxs with issues than the Cummins and Powerstoke, but I will be honest, I don't know of many LMM duramaxs one the road. I know a few have them on here but around here where I live its either new Cummins or Powerstrokes. PM RCannon about the LMM Dmax as he has one.
(Not trying to start a war either boys, just what I have seen )

To answer your second Question "Regen" or Regeneration is the process where the truck burns out the DPF or Diesel Particulate Filter.

I guess it's my opinion that these new 6.7's will still run 400,000 miles if you get them unstuffed. Dmax, and powerstroke won't. They had less issues with emissions because they have less of them. Don't know if there 2010 emissions compliant trucks are out yet or not. I love the old saying, "six in a row is better to tow".

The Cummins is hands down the best configuration for durability and longevity. Hands down and if a Powerstroke guy or dmax guy is honest, they'd agree with that statement.
Fuzzy has it right, the Cummins is the only '10 emissions’ compliant, which is exactly why they’ve had more issues than Powerstroke and D'max. Let's see what kind of problems they have when the urea systems come out..
With these things said, if you’re gonna delete all the emissions stuff, I don't think your gonna beat the 6.7. However, in a stock configuration I think it would be hard to beat a Duramax. It gets great mileage and has had virtually zero problems with the emissions crap and the Allison is awesome if the truck is left stock! Trust me, it pains me to say that because I'm not a a fan of GM.

If I were to buy a new truck today, it would either be a Chevy LMM Dmax, or a Dodge 6.7 Cummins. After seeing so many of the local guys happy with their LMMs, and one local guy happy with his 6.7 (and a bunch here on TDG), it would be between those. I have heard ups and downs of all of the big 3. I dont know anyone in person with a 6.4 PSD other than a friend of my dad who upgraded from a 7.3.

My view's may very well change if I test drove or rode in a 6.4 PSD Ford though.

I know a 6.7 with just deletes pulls better than any stock truck i have driven. Some may diagree but i know i drove my dads truck from houston to salt lake it was about 2200miles and all it had was deletes pulling his 5er. I averaged around 13mpg with the truck and was ata steady 70-75 when possible. At the time truck had 3k on it. But for grins i took my tuck stock and his with deletes and played around with a load. He had prob 2k on me with trailer and and every hill he would pull on me. He has 6spd with 3.42s and i have 6spd with 3.73s. Im not all dodge but around here there are alot of everything. 90% f hot shot guys here have dodge. Most of your lease trucks are fords and the guy hat gets new truck evry 2 years has d-max. Im not picken sides but i realy think the 6.7 is gonna be able to keep up the reputation of the 5.9!
