What to do once transmission goes out?

The 6-Speed auto is finally starting to have problems... It's still working but the truck is used pretty steadily so would already like to know what to do once the transmission does go out. I don't know how much a new factory one will be but for some reason I dont think the ATS is much more costly than the factory tranny and is right away beefed up and great warranty. I also don't know if there's many people out there that would rebuild these transmissions or how much that would run. Need advice on what would be the best thing to do. The truck tows a lot of heavy loads by the way, loaded on the way there and empty back...

its wearing out cause it has over 200k on it in stock form if it already went this far a rebuild kit would be best bang for buck imo

That or Call Dave Goerend and tell him the application and est. HP and have a trans built for the needs at hand. Though I have not dealt with Dave I hear he is a super cool guy and on heck of a trans builder. I will be calling Dave when the time comes but that could just be me.

true i would just buy an upgraded rebuild kit from suncoast for $800 and go that route if it is souly used for hauling heavy loads untuned

The biggest tune it might get, with loads at least, would be a 30-60 hp tune from smarty and I doubt that's even gonna happen. The biggest thing is durability with hauling heavy loads.
