question about coolant???

Ok do we have to run this pink **** that is causing problems wit water pump gaskets and seals to go bad???? Or can we get it completely flushed and run the old green antifreeze in it may be dumb to ask but i really dont know and would like to find out.

Dodge will tell you yes...If it were me, I would call a Cummins dealer and ask them. I know that if you don't get it all out the two different fluids do not like each other and have heard stories of them coagulating and plugging stuff up but that was when green was added to the pink stuff. (on a gasser) I have some of both here...old green and GM Dex-Cool I may pour them in a cup together and see if this does really happen. Just what a buddy of mine told me..I would be completely incorrect.

Need to keep the pink to keep warrantee.
Having said that..... I lost my water pump at 53,000 miles, it was covered by warrantee.
Afterwards, I was talking to the radiator shop I do business with and he told me that the vast majority of problems he sees is those with the pink fluid. He recommended changing the fluid every 25,000 miles while under warrantee then switch to the green fluid. The pink fluid loses its ability to protect seals and hoses much faster then the green although it it keeps it corosion protection. The pink eats and softens all rubber componants of the cooling system: w/p seals, hoses etc. The shop owner also sees a lot of "sludge" build up in systems with the pink fluid.

With all of the equipment I have, all of it uses the green anti-freeze.

Dealer did change my fluid, did not have to pay for it.. Also they sent a sample to a lab for testing so Dodge could figure out why wp are leaking so soon (hint: its caused by the pink anti-freeze)

My anti- freeze looks like it is orange and not pink. Although, I bought my truck from the dealer but it already had 17000 miles on it. You think it could have been changed already?
