From what I understand on the 09s is that what you can do depends on the build date, if it was built prior to 03/09 you have some options but will most likely result in voiding your warranty. What did you have in mind? and What will the truck be used for?

Let's assume that you aren't concerned with warranty or any form of emmisions testing:

If the truck has a build date earlier than 3/09 then you will want to do:

Smarty s-67 w/me tune
or
H&S XRT race tuner
or
H&S Black MAXX race tuner

Some form of dpf delete ranging from a dpf delete pipe to a full turbo back exhaust.

An Egr/Egr cooler delete

A full set of gauges

The above will net you a gain in mileage of 3-6 mpgs depending on driving style, as much power as the tranny can handle, and stop all of the trips to dealer for DPF regen problems and turbo replacements.

If you have a truck with the newer build date, you cannot run a programmer due to the new locked ECM's. At this point your best bet would be an Edge RACE Juice w/Attitude. It will still allow the removal of the EGR and DPF but you will have a little higher EGT's and your mileage improvement won't be quite as good.

Manual or auto??? First thing drop that DPF and EGR system like a bad habit going to cause you nothing but a headache IMO.
