Brakes, how many miles?

Was wondering how many miles everyone is getting on a set of brake pads.

Just changed mine today at 64,000 miles. Most pads had some life left and a couple were close to the wear limit indicator. Getting ready to take a week off towing the 5th wheel and knew they were getting close when I had the new tires installed, so I decided to play it safe.

In past 1/2 tons, always wore out fronts 30-35,000 miles, On cars can get over 150,000 miles.

My front pads were gone around 30,000. That is about average for me with towing. I was a little under impressed with the factory tires, I replaced them around 26,000 I may have had about 5k left before bald.
I am now running Nitto Terra Grappler and love them, but I don't think I will get many more miles out of them. Any suggestions on a comp tire that will last longer with the torque in these trucks???

not as aggressive but from what I have read they should last a long time..I have had mine for just over a week and they are great so far.

I went with Nitto after having BFG AT's and wish I had stuck with the BFG's. I put over 62k miles on them and could have put another 10k easily. I also only had one flat on them the entire time.

What pads are you using when you replace them?

I know I will be after some pads that offer just a tad (sarcastic!) less brake dust!

I replaced my pads with the NAPA Premium pads. Seem to get the same or slightly better milage compared to factory pads. They used to have lifetime waranty in the past. I have changed up to 5 sets of pads for the price of 1 set on past pickups, wish they still had the lifetime.

I haven't changed mine yet, but a lot of people are running EBC pads. You can get either Green Stuff, low dust, or Yellow Stuff, Maximum Stopping. Anything has to be better than the stockers and the red haze they produce. My poor wheels!
