gauge help

hey a friend of mine has the 08 6.7 and i wnt to get he has the boost gauge. however ive heard there is a nut tht screws in so u dont drill through anything and i was wondering where to buy tht from so he can have it for xmas. thanks

is this what you are talking about? it goes in the air inlet. I have heard that they break easy. I choose to drill and tap the air inlet itself, I also would think that it would provide a more accurate reading by tapping the inlet.

just my .02s as I am sure they both do work.

I also drilled and tapped my own hole instead of using a boost bolt. No issues, just make sure you clean up after yourself and get rid of the filings before starting the truck. Lots of people use boost bolts with no issues, just depends which route you want to go.

yea that bolt was what i was talking about. my brother doesnt want to drill on his truck atleast untill the waranty is up. i figured it wld make a good xmas gift
