Any idea why the exhaust brake won't function?

It hasn't worked in quite a long while, just between work and college I've never been able to get around to fixing it or at least try to figure out what caused it. It happened roughly the same time I took off my EGR/EGR Cooler. I took it to my dealer and they said they fixed it, but I don't notice it kickin in at all when I have it engaged. I haven't been able to find any other resources lately so I figured why not try pickin y'alls brains. HELP!

Check for codes, do you have a CEL on? I lost my EB when the turbo went. the code that is linked to this is P2262. Here is a sure fire way to test it. when you go down a hill with the EB on and in Tow/Haul mode, down shift the truck the EB should pick up at that point. I noticed my EB fading when the turbo was on its way out. When you deleted the EGR and cooler you didn't take anything off the turbo did you? Other than an issue with the Turbo I can't think of anything, is the light on the switch working when you turn it on?

Yea, the light comes on. I never removed the turbo or anything around it when I deleted the cooler. We did have an issue when I was assuming I could keep the butterfly in and went to drive home from the shop. That was a slow trip to the house lol. The turbo sounds fine also so I don't honestly know what it could be. If anyone still uses this setup...when you don't clear codes with the edge or like if you go through a drive through and kill the truck to place the order then turn it back on too fast, does it through the lightning bolt and go into limp?

It's been a few weeks since I threw that so I can't recall what the code number was, but it was damn near a sure fire way of going into a limp by goin through a drive through lol. I tried the EB in tow/haul as well btw. It never engages, just the light comes on. It isn't a big loss but before I did any further modifications I wanted to get everything working properly.

Man that sucks i have no clue at all never had to deal wit it...when i had the edge/puck setup i never got a lightning bolt lol oh wait when i hooked up the smoke switch it would kick the lightning bolt if i left it on to long. Take that turb off and put a 64 on there and dont look back soon to be wat i do lol i will miss the exhaust brake but not that much. if my memory serves me right the lightning bolt is a absolute manifold pressure code???
