Manual or Auto?

I was wondering what the 6 speed manual tranny was like on the 6.7 Cummins? If I decide to go Dodge, and I'm leaning that way, I still have to decide on auto or stick. I really love a manual and have been driving one for 32 years. Just looking for opinions on the Dodge 6 speed with the diesel is all.

The 68RFE is a sweet auto FWIW...they are holding well, and seem to be a much better trans.

I'm very happy with the manual I have always had autos and switched. I've also been told the exhaust brake works better with the manual.?

i too always had a manual. switchjed this time and very happy i did, this isnt the old "slush box" from back when. and it works real well with the e brake. some times it seems wqto brake almost too hard. takes getting used to and learning how to do it.

I agree to the e brake sometimes is to hard sometimes. I turn off the tow/haul mode and manually control the shifting.

It is a good trans, I have one with a 5.9 and one with a 6.7. Both are doing fine no problems other than the clutches suck. I have had to replace both at about 70k (my trucks pull a lot of weight). I have a 6.7 with the new auto and love it, it had 110k and has been great. Oh and I think the exhaust brake is better on the auto, especially with tow haul and the manual shifting.

I picked the manual to avoid the catastrophic failures I've had with dodge autos
