I'd O-ring it to unless something has changed with the 6.7 vs the 5.9 is that department.

External waste gates seem to be helping with the HG problems. It seems to be caused from to much drive pressure. Smarty and XRT seem to be getting the blame, so my smarty has been set to sw1, and I try to keep the boost under 30. Not always easy dragging 22k. Studs would be good, but I've also read of it still happening with arp 625's. Still lifting the head. The EWG controls the drive pressure to a 1:1. I've read that some guys with a guage have seen as much as 2:1 which I guess is bad. Most of this is a little beyond my knowledge, and I'm just relaying what I've read about the issue.

I am beginning to wonder if deletes are the way to go? Fuzzy your camper weighs close to what ours weighs. What kind of boost press are you seeing with SW3 and SW1? I am getting closer to pulling the trigger, but after a leaky CP3 and reading about HGs blowing I am leaning to the unpopular decision to keep my power train warranty. Also what kind of Boost press is causing HG issues? I have seen as high as 25-29psi stock.

With O-rings you use the stock gasket. Fire-Rings are a whole different story and really not good for street trucks.

This is an O-ringed 5.9 head that is currently on my truck. You can see that the Rings are laid into the head right at the fire ring area. It basicaly adds more material to the fire ring area and makes it harder to blow out. It also creates a tounge and grove effect on the fire ring preventing them from moving!

Neel, you can easily keep the boost under 30 pulling 11-12k. I can still get going pretty good pulling 22k with the boost holding 28-30 psi. The HG issues have had me just a little concerned, but at the same time there is not enough of them to completly throw the blame on the tuners. Most of them I've read about are from guys that run the living dog snot out of their trucks day in and day out.
