test drive

i test drove a '10 RAM 2500 crew cab cummins 6spd manual yesterday. very nice truck. has a bit more bubble in the hood than my ford but big deal. the exhaust brake is prety nifty. im pondering trading the ford for it. for the simplicity of engines and i wana crew cab instead of extended. and dodge is all thats left with a handshaker. power seemed good low but top end was a bit "flat". what can you guys tell me about these 6.7s as far a reliabilty. ease of modding? hows dodge on warrantying stuff? and any other pointers you wana give? thanks in advance

I test drove a 4x4 3500 dually 2010 yesterday. It was really nice. The mileage indication was about 15 on the interstate. I think this will be a great truck for anyone. I won't be trading. I have too much in mine now and I am in love with it. I only have 38k on my 07.5...

Just traded my 07 dodge 2500 with a 6.7 on a 2010 dodge with a 6.7. I did go from a 6 speed stick to the 6 speed auto. I. Have about 1500 miles on it now and love it. I belive the warranty 3/36000 on everything 5/100000 drive and engine parts. I have never had a warrranty prob on any of my 3 dodges I have work done like ball joints and u joints but was always covered. Good luck !!!!!

what about your mods. how are the engines holding up. whats the weak point in the truck and at what horsepower. i mean id like to get a reliable driveable 500rwhp if possible. one of the reasons for switching is because everything you do on a 6.4 you gota pull the frigen cab and i looked at a cummings and its 5x more open under the hood. what do you guys think? and another thing is when ppl nuke the 6.4s there loooking at 20k or so for a new engine and i just want sumthing i dont have to worrry maybe as much about? thanks

If I was in the market I would order a new Ford 450 with the new diesel sight unseen. I think the engine will be a hit since it came from Ford engineering.
I am still waiting on about a 2013 DC 4500 pickup.

Does the 2010 H/D Rams require DEF? I heard that the 3500's did and can not see why the others would not.

My 2010 2500 6.7 cummins still has the standard regen. Just like my 07 .

I have been asking the same question since I bought a 6.7 cummins to put in my 2004 ford. It seems like the Doge guys tap dance around this question like a politition talking about abortion.

Ryan Been of beans diesel is running 999 hp with a 6.7 cummins. It is by no means a stock engine. but it is a testament that the block and internals can hold up.

The biggist problem I am finding with the 6.7 is EGR, DPF, and the VGT turbo which has high drive pressure that results in Head gaskets blowing when turned up.

I am planning on making 500 to the rear wheels but need to do alot of research.

My plans are to do head studs and balance the rotating assembly

As far as I've found you cant just slap a tuner on the 6.7 and safley make 500 HP. Hope this helps.
