DPF PROBLEMS

I have a 2008 6.7. I have had the check engine come on at least 12 times. It goes on and off. I have had it in the shop 4 times. They reflashed it 3 of the times, the fourth time they cleaned the egr valve. 1 month later it came on and went off again. My overhead console has never come on about the Catalyst Full. The truck runs perfect, no loss of power etc. My question is, will this problem with the DPF , EGR bluetec emission crap ever in any way ruin my engine, head, crank, rods etc? If it is contained to the emissions I can live with it going on once in awhile.Any input anybody?..Should I get rid of it? Thanks

It will not last like the old 5.9 till you decide to take all emissions off. Then you will have a reliable powerhouse on your hands wit better mileage. Dont get rid of it unless you dont wanna get your hans dirty by deleting everything that is junk on these trucks. 60k miles of deleted and tuned and never had another check engine light tells me something...

Removing DPF

Could you let me know exactly what to do to remove this crap. I take it that this will void any warranty....Will leaving this on for awhile ever do any damage to the engine?.. Thanks for your help

Look at the supporting vendors section around the top of the home page and ask the guys you are looking for a tuner, dpf delete, egr, and possibly an egr cooler delete and they will hook you up it is pretty simple just a few basic hand tools and a friend to help wit the exhaust.

i would like to inject one simple truth. there is no documented evidence that this emissions equipment decreases the overall longevity of these engines. there are stock engines out there with over 300k miles on the clock. most is "urban legend", truck may run better without it, and maybe better fuel economy. but at a 2 mpg increase overall that adds up to about $200/yr. i dont claim whether deleting is good or bad . just that all the true facts should be presented.

Your warranty will be voided if you take it in with no emissions stuff on it, not unless you have a mod friendly dealer. Hope you get your issues straightened out.

But any engine that has exhaust gasses returning down through the engine will cause more harm that without it. But there are several cases showing that leaving the emissions on will cause more check engine lights on, trubos going out. 2mpg increase overall idk where you got that number but i shot up atleast 4mpg dif vs stock
