Crankshaft options

I have a 6NZ C15 that I need a crank for.
I also have a currently non-running 4CK 3406C. I have heard/seen from a couple places that said the crankshaft from the 3406C will work in the C15. However, I was also told that a C15 crank weighs 8 lbs more according to catalog info.
So again, the question is will it work or not? Is the extra weight there for balance or beef?
