painting turbo

has anyone ever painted their turbo? ive been working under the hood lately and my motor seems a little blah. im looking for a few things to paint to draw attention to the motor. any sugestions

2004 chevy 2500 duramax lly. no cat or anything resignator capped pcv rerouted, ats stage 3 internals with transgo shift kit, isspro ev2 gauges, custom 4 inch straight pipe with 6 inch tip, afe intake, efi live tunning, fass 150, moded cp3, injectors opened 45%, 64mm cheetah turbo soon to be replaced with twins

The turbo gets too hot for paint, if anything you could get it ceramic coated. You could maybe paint the intake side with a high temp paint, but the exhaust side sees the 1200-1600 EGTs.

what polishing company or compound would you recomend

Detroit had paint that took extremely high heat, 3200 degrees if memory serves me it was silver, might give them a call, and ask.

1988 ford van fresh overhaul, 1991 nissan pick-up 1993 Caprice 2000 GMC S10 Blaser 2007 nbs 3500 GMC 4x4 crew-cab long box 17 inch single wheels Duramax Alison. BW turnover Ball. Furakawa FL35 loader. Retired, HD mechanic, worked on engines all my life. Fabricator welder. electrician. in the process of finishing my new shop. Live in Rock Creek B.C. Wife has a fruit stand.

Ceramic coating won't take 3200 degrees, I doubt any paint will.

you can get 2k degree paint from rustoleum

Mine turned a silver/gray when I treated it with Orthofoz phosphate rust treatment.

Washed it off and while it was wet coated it with the Othofoz and then went to town before it dried. It was pretty rusty and I thought it would turn black with white powder when the rust converted.
