hood scoop

well, i have a $100 gift cert. that my g/f got me for jc whitney...problem is, they dont have ANYthing i want! i was thinkin maybe buyin a hood scoop, takin it to a body shop, getting to cut a hole in my hood, put on the scoop with bondo, etc. making it look like a one peice hood and having a "custom" ram air hood. seems like a pretty good and fairly cheap idea to me. however someone told me i may get water in it and on my motor and fry sensors or somethin.... whats yalls input? Thanks!
Darin

Just get the stick on ones if you don't want to buy a ram air hood. Body shop and cheap never go together in the same statement.

I say do it. I had a 97 psd with a cervini's mach 1 hood on it and it had 2 open scoops and it was fine. Trust me it saw plenty of rain and snow and the truck is still running around somewhere with the same set up. So I think you will be just fine.
