Lone Star bumpers

i just got a full front and frear bumper replacement set from a buddy of mine but the rear is showing a little surface rust and they are kinda dull looking is there anything yall can think of to clean them up? can you just paint over them or will i have to have them stripped and re powdercoated?

My front bumper is sprayed with bed liner, I like it because I don't have to worry about it getting scratched.

Be carefull when having sprayliner applied. The previous owner if my truck had it put on his front & rear Ranchhand style replacement bumpers. Who ever did it didn't sand the factory finish properly. now it's rusting under the sprayliner in places and the liner is pealing in places. I hate it so much that i'd like to replace it all w/ Ford factory chrome bumpers.

i dont really want it lined cuz i have alot of trouble getting the mud and dirt out of all the little crevises i just want them shiny black again

if it was me i would sand off the powdercoat and just rattle can it, when when it starts to rust or get scrached you can repaint it easy

Not surprised with the rust. My Lonestar is doing the same thing. They didn't prep the surface very well, if at all. Needs to be blasted and repainted.
