Under the hood

what do you guys use to wash your motors that does not leave white residue behind??? Used some Super Clean crud from Ace and it cleaned but left white behind on almost everything, especially on the aluminum I rinsed very very well..

Thanks in advance..

Simple green works. But I perfer to use a pressure washer with hot water. I degrease the under side of my Pete every year and it does the trick.

I use Simple Green then this http://www.maximausa.com/products/cleaners/sc1.asp Some Armor All type tire shines seem to mess up rubber hoses from what I've seen. The SC1 makes it a breeze to clean up the next time and leaves an incredible looking engine bay.

X2, just get the spray bottle at wally world and don't add water. Also works great on tire, plastic, flormats, getting soot off your tips or stacks and alot more. NEVER EVER use purple power on your truck, motorcycle or anything with aluminum, it messed up my old race bike's motor (looks). Also the dollar store has "super mean green" that works really well.

I've used Simple Green a couple of times. But years ago, I used to use powered laundry detergent too....... Sprinkled it on, then a heavy mist of water to suds it up, let it sit about 10-15 minutes and rinsed off...... It worked pretty well on my gassers. Haven't tried it on the diesel..... Since the second time I used Simple Green, I just haven't let it get very dirty...........

To make it shine, I used to use Armorall or something similar....... Now I am using Adams's stuff. I like it much better but it is costly.....
