PPG DP vs DPLF products

Unfortunately, it has been waaaay to long since I've sprayed parts! But it is time to get back into the groove!!

Anyway, I have some sandblasting work to do, and I used to wrap those fresh balsted parts in DP50, or DP90. Looks like now, those products have gone to DP50LF, or DP90LF. Apparently the "LF" stands for lead free.

But just like anything else, sometimes products chaneg when they are altered. Any body guys out there? Or any hobbiest folks that have used the new stuff?

I will hopefully be trying it soon, but curious to see if there is any feedback out there.

Im a professional painter but unfortunetly i dont have much experiance with the PPG products. if it was a Dupont, sikkens , standox or spies hecker related question Id be your guy.

Exactly what are you trying to do? are you just trying to paint the metal parts you are blasting?

Man we used to use the fire out of Sikkens...........but wow were they expensive!!! Can't even remember the name of what we used, but it was the high build primer, which sprayed a light yellowish color.

so what are you trying to do? just prime the bare, sandblasted metal?

Yep. I only get spare time here and there to work on the car, so when I can, I will go and blast portions of it, and then try to get it covered, until the next time I can work on it. Once all of the balsting is done, then I can start doing the metal work.
