Long weekend

So, I come home early from the office thinking I'll do a quick wash and vacuum of the truck. Get it cleaned up for the holiday and the relatives and all that crap.

I washed it and it seemed as though it felt like sandpaper on all the horizontal surfaces. WTF????? It's only been a month since I clayed and polished and waxed the thing. I kept thinking "What's up with that?"

So, I called our painter at the shop and ask him if he'd put filters in the exhaust.

I get the "OH! I forgot to ask you to order some more. Our electrostatics are shot. I threw them in the dumpster"

I went back to the garage and pulled out the clay bar and the Adam's detailing spray to find a thin layer of Safety Yellow all over the hood. That means it's on every flat surface on my truck as well as any that the wind has blown it to

Guess what I'm doing for the holiday weekend?

: damnit:d amnit

Where's my Maker's Mark and Coke?

Details (pun intended) to come.

I wonder what your painter will say when you hand him a bill for a couple clay bars and a bottle of Maker's Mark?

OK, so I'm out of Maker's Mark and so very close to being out of Adam's Detail Spray. I should have just enough left to wipe down the truck once more to make certain all the Super Wax has been removed. It was dark by the time I quit.

I need another clay bar, because mine is toast. And let me tell you, wearing one of these out is a chore. This is the 3rd time this bar has clayed my truck and I have no doubts it would've lasted 3 more times if it hadn't been for the layer of paint spray all over it this time. The last time I clayed my truck was the weekend before Smokin' 2009, so it hasn't been all that long. If I ever see one look like that one again, it'll be way too soon. It started off blue, but ended up just plain nasty, but mostly Safety Yellow

I also need a new black pad for my PC.

I'll post some pics tomorrow after I wipe down the truck again and detail the tires and undercarriage and completely clean the interior. I might even get under the hood done, but I'm not holding my breath. Besides, I have modifications to do (new headlights and clear corners and an AFE Stage 2 intake).

I must admit that I have completely fallen in love with Adam's Polishes products. The instructional DVD absolutely rocks so make certain you watch it before you start the detailing process.

I think the CD sucked.

I put it in my truck, turned in on, came back three hours later and my truck looked the same..
