Can you dye a dash

I have a blue dash that I need to make tan, I rather dye it if possible over painting it.

I've seen people dye it darker, but I don't know about blue to tan.

I think your only real option might be painting it. Just be sure to prep it really good.

I forgot to update you guys on this, but I have recently painted the dash tan, I did a lot of cleaning on it then used some acetone for a final clean. I must say it looks pretty good now.

yes you can dye any color plastic to any other color you want. one thing to note is that you should never ever clean plastic with a solvent based cleaner such as Acetone. number one reason is that rubbing it over the plastic can cause static electricity and it can flash and burn you . ive seen it happen. other reason is you purpose of cleaning is to remove solvents , silicones and petroleum bases contaminates. by using a solvent based product like acetone or laquer thinner you can introduce solvents back into the plastic since the plastic will absorb. Sorta defeating the purpose. Hot soapy dish detergent water is the best house hold cleaner for plastic prep

Fordt... the term "dye" should be used lightly. You really are painting it. . you dont actually dip it into a dye and let dry like the term suggests . Not sure if that is what you thought "dyeing" ment

'04 6.0, 4.5" lift, straight piped, SCT tunes by Innovative Diesel, studded, coolant filter, EGR delete Tru track in the rear, sounds by JL audio some other odds and ends
