thank you! to answer your question.. usually no more then two times, helps keep bugs and crap from the road from sticking to the paint. going threw the car wash so much tends to strip the wax off quickly so i try to keep up with it. i drive 700-1000 miles per week so it gets dirty fast, takes constant attention to keep it looking good.

Well thats a hard question to answer. If you are taking it through car washes a lot it depends on what is being used in the car wash. If you keep layering wax on top of wax it tends to buildup and the finish can become hazy and look like vaseline smeared on your paint.

car washes are horrible on paint. probably one of the quickest ways to deteriorate your paint is gong through a carwash all the time. keep waxing that thing man

actually yes they are, they often use more aggressive soaps since there are no brushes touching your truck to remove the dirt and another reason car washes are bad for paint is that MANY of them recycle their water and i know that the ones in my area use other chemicals to keep that water sanitized and those chemicals are harsh on paint.

when i was a kid i worked at a full service car wash and they used bleach pored into the the holding tanks every night to keep the water from stinking .
if your interested, you should ask the owner/manager of the car wash you use to inform you of what they use. depending on what their procedure is and what chemicals they use , you may be ok

so yes touchless car washes can also be very bad for the paint. but just like superduty said, "it depends on what is being used in the car wash "

i worked at this car wash for 2 years, if it wasnt run right i wouldnt wash there, never mind spend 2 years selling their products. i guess this thread is a good example of why i dont post much on message boards anymore, you post something up that your proud of and all u get from other people is criticism and smart remarks.
