SCTII SF tuner with canned tunes into SCT with custom tunes

My buddy has an SCT X2 SF tuner with the canned tunes and wants to get custom tunes for it. Now what do i hafta do to put custom tunes on his tuner? I already have the SCT firmware and software on my computer for the X2. I'm thinking i hafta plug his tuner into my computer and click on "ERASE DEVICE" to get rid of the canned tunes so that i can download custom ones on it right?

that should turn it into a regular x2 which will accept custom tunes.

thanks Bill. I found that after i posted the thread. Gonna try doing it to my buddy's SF tuner this week and get a custom tow tune and x-street for my buddy's '05

Will the SCT still read codes, and computer id code after erasing can tune, and before adding custom tunes. Meaning if I erase the can tunes can I still read the info I need for ID to make me custom tunes.

i would think that you should still be able to.

Yes the device will still be able to read codes and strategy. All you are doing is getting rid of the pre loaded tunes.

thanks Matt. After lookin on the sct website, i think there is an update for the X2 SF device. So i think i'm gonna call and have someone walk me through the update for the device before i get custom tunes for my buddy's truck from Innovative Diesel.
