SCT lock unlock question

Can someone tell me about this.
I see people stating their SCT has
x# of unlock left. Does that mean if
I start with 3 unlock and I load a custom
tune in my truck, then return to stock
and retune with same tune as before I then
have 2 unlocks remaining.
If so, how do some flip so many different peoples
custom tunes.

Thanks for the information.

The unlocks only pertain to using your SCT from one vehicle to another. You can swap tunes all you want and not effect your unlock number.

What he said. You can change tunes and vendors an unlimited amount of times as long as the truck's PCM strategy does not change. I used up all of my unlocks at one point because Ford had reflashed my PCM so many times.

the "Unlocks" are refurring to this seniero, I have my truck programed with the tuner, the tuner is now locked(handheld unit), while locked the tuner is UNABLE to program anyother truck. Now somthing happens to my truck and i cannot reinstall the stock tune to my truck and the tuner is stuck in "Locked" mode, Now i have to call sct and pay them for an unlock code... now there are 2 "Unlocks" remaining.... this happened to me already.

And one more thing... NEVER SEND YOUR TRUCK TO THE DEALER WITH THE TUNER IN IT!!! After you get your truck back from the dealer and the tuner doesnt work because, the tuner needs to be updated with sct (its free, just time consuming). Just went thru this this week. Ford can reflash your truck 50 times and sct will keep up with the hex number, and we DONT have to unlock the tuners, just update them. KEEP THE COAL ROLLIN'!!!!
