built tranny

So my buddy just had a built tranny put in his 07. Not sure on specs besides something Banks and some other stuff. He said his tranny shifts way to hard now with the new tranny and his programming. Is that right? Im gonna tell him to talk to the programmer to get new tunes if so.

2008 6.4L PSD mods someday.

SOLD:2003 6.0L PSD. Tinted windows, Kenwood Cd player, Banks 4 inch Monster 1/2 way back to MBRP 6 inch Miter cut dual stacks, Rhino lined bed and rockers,S&B airfilter, Sct tuned by various, DiProcol Tranny, EGT and boost gauges in pillar mount, Go Rhino steps on 33x12.50 Toyo M/t's with black 18x9 Ultra Mammoth rims.Dfuser coolant kit,Ford Blue fuel pressure spring, ARP studs, Black excursion grill with enlarged Black emblem, 2008 tailgate with black emblem and black super duty lettering and 2008 tail lights RCD egr delete..

Obviuosly it would be A Ford 6.0L and chances would be it isnt a manual. Thats where the post is.

obviously people do post **** in the wrong forums ALL the time so it ISN'T obvious what it is...
BUT
We do need to know what kinda built trans and what programing and stuff is he running.. Only thing banks is offering that I am aware of is a converter???

he needs to try it w/ stock tuning and see if maybe it isn't just the tunes...

He has been running it on stock cause he doesnt like the way it shifts. His tunes from IDP are fairly new so I told him to call them and see what they can do.

he can change the pressures on each shift with the sct...or like you said eric can also change the shifting and pressures in the tune.

He had mentioned that feature but with not knowing what he is doing, may not be a good idea .

if his tunes havent been rewritten for for the built trans then that is why, a properly built trans will not need as much line pressure as a stock trans to give firm shifts. if he has a modified solenoid in the trans that could add to it as well.

fwiw he can try reducing the shift firmness with the user adjustable options on the sct, it may help.
