Exhaust!

I just recently purchased my first diesel and love it. The other day i put the SCT Extream Street Tune on it and wow what a completely new truck!! I was wondering what is the best exhaust to get now that ive done this. I am running basicly and open exhaust now (took the mid pipe out) so its just free flow, but i want to be able to see the smoke when i really hammer it as opposed to it blowing all over the underside of my truck!! Look forward to the response!! 2006 F350 PowerStroke!

Any of the systems on the market will work. It's your preference. You want shiny, quiet, loud, functional, cheap? I have the Banks Monster exhaust and I love it. It keeps the cat (which I have removed). It is 409 SS so it will last as long as the truck. It is great sounding when I stomp on it, but I do not have the highway drone that so many other exhaust systems have. But the down side is that it is about $500 when on sale.

I run the MBRP 4" turbo back with the cat delete...ran it with the muffler delete for awhile but at highway speeds the drone was too much...put the muffler in and it is perfect...stomp on it and you can hear it but as long as you keep in under 85-90 the drone doesn't get too bad. Good luck.

+1 MBRP, If I upgrade mine from my custom job to a 4" with down pipe it will be a MBRP, My friend has a 06 with the 4" 409SS I do envy the look and sound of it

To add to it he did cut up the 4" pipe where it dumps out the side and made several cuts and tig welded it back together so it dumps out where non exestant spare would have been due to having 40" mt's and LS diffs made no sense to keep the spare.

Like mentioned above, any exhaust system will do what you are looking for. The only difference in "most" systems are the mufflers, and the clamps. Almost every manufacturer has a muffler design for their systems...some are similar to others, but still their design. Clamps are another good thing to look at. If it's a saddle or Guillotine style clamp it will have a tendancy to pinch the tubing leaving it unusable again if you have to remove that part off your truck for some reason. The band clamps are much better in this aspect as it does not damage the pipe. The other thing is the material used. While most thing 409 will out last the truck, this is not true. 409 can and will corrode. If you want an exhaust system to last the life of the truck 304 is the only material that will do that. If you want something to last 6-8 years...then Aluminized will do that...or if you want the 409 will as well. Depending on where you live climate wise and weather condition wise should be a factor before you purchase your exhaust system.

I also have the banks. An exhaust is probably an exhaust so. I originally had the muffler from banks and kept cat on but that sound was just a teaser so I deleted both.. Nothing better than straight piped.. Stacks coming one of these days.
