head lights

my son has 04 f250 . it sat for 6 months before he could drive it . the head lights and dash lights act like they are surging . checked the batteries and alt checked ok found a bad ground strap from body to frame and replaced it .any thoughts?

I would check all battery connections then I would check the alternator output.

i did that to day both ground clamps were loose tightened them.then rechecked the voltage . it was only showing about 11 volts. replaced the alt then it was 13.5 -14 . he went camping with his buds .ill find out tomorrow . thanks

sounds like you have it sorted out. how long after t was started did you check the voltage? even though the wait to start light has gone out, the glowplugs can stay on for several minutes, and they draw huge power. its normal for it to be quite low until they kick out.

that is true the glowplugs do draw a lot of voltage . we had it running for awhile before checking it. it seems to have been the alt . my son says it has never been this good.
