Sct and EGR valve?

Please don't beat me up to bad for asking this question, but do the canned tunes on these SCT programmers turn off the EGR valve?

TIA

Nope. Most all tuning devices off the shelf have to stay within the legal limits for emission laws. Unless its a device that allows you to perform your own custom tuning, like pro racer software.

Thanks Harry,
I have been running the canned tunes from my SCT for a couple of years now due to the fact that I change my gears out on my truck and the custom tunes i have from Bill @Dfuser were for the stock 3.73 gears. So with this, I havent wanted to run the customs tunes since its going to affect the shifting points and have been sticking to the canned tunes. I have been wondering if this could be affecting my fuel milage with the egr not being turned off. So I need to get off my lazy but and get some new tunes that accomadate my new gearing and turn off the egr.

Your welcome Bootcamp, always glad to help if I can. With your 4:10 gearing and 35" tires, what rpms are you seeing at say 70mph cruising down the highway? Just curious, because I am running 35"s with the 3:73 gearing.

Sorry for the delay in reply guy's, haven't checked this thread till now. Anyhow, I see 2000rpm at 75mph, 1900 at 70mph, 1800 at 65mph. My mileage around town driving with winter fuel and winter conditions it can drop as low as 13.5mpg and go as high as 17 on the highway. With summer fuel and warmer conditions everything goes up, around town 15-16 and highway 18 and even 20 on rare ocassion. Around these parts it's hard to get the trucks T-stat to open in winter, my usual coolant temps are around 166F and ocassionally 174F if we tow, that effects mileage the most, not being able to get up to operating temps. I have thought about getting a winter front for the trucks grill, or at least a piece of cardboard stuck in there.

Yes, in the adjustable option in the canned tune is a setting for egr on or off, it does not actually shuth the process it just shuts the light off that it throws when you do the physical delete

What kind of exhaust temps are you seeing? Mine is roughly 10 X MPH.
