SCT X3

Check out the vendors. You usually get 3 custom tunes when you buy from most places. They will adjust it for an EGR delete. You need studs for hot tunes.

Weld is correct, a custom tuned SCT X3 is what you want for the 6.0 Powerstroke, it tunes the engine and transmission to match. I use Mike at KEM, heres a link.....

For myself, I would rather have the SCT X3 and additionally purchase a ScanGauge2 for monitoring the critical engine/transm data. The livewire has some nice handy features, but won't read all the data like a ScanGauge2 does. ScanGauge2 is not a tuner, but only cost about 160.00 and reads nearly everything important for the 6.0 once the X-gauge features are coded in.

Add A Pyrometer to the list, While I agree with Harry who is far better a the 6.0L Stuff than I am. I still suggest a Boost, Trans Temp and Pyro when running aftermarket tuning. The boost and Trans Temp will be far more accurate than the cluster and the Pyro will let you monitor your EGTs. That will also free up the scan gauge II to Display ECT over EOT and FICM Voltages. Just my thoughts.

Scangauge II will give you trans temp and inferred boost. I run an analog boost gauge from autometer and a digital pyro from autometer. Honestly the cooling system on the torqshift is amazing most guys report it runs at temp most of the time. It has a thermostat in it and once it opens the external cooler brings it in check fast. Overall I agree with neel I just personally don't watch my tranny temp much because it doesn't really ever get hot.

FICM tuning is where you can quickly run into pyro temp issues.
