Injectors and boost pressure

On my most recent build I installed a new compressor wheel on my stock 2003 turbo and my pressures increased from a normal high of 28 psi to a new normal high of 32 psi. Now I installed some injectors I made up (true 165 with 25 nozzle) and now my turbo pressures are up over 40psi. My thinking is I am producing more fuel, producing more exhaust, spinning the turbo faster? Is this correct? Why have I not read of others with higher turbo pressures after injector changes?.

Your analogy sounds logical to me Len. The turbo may be overspeeding, that is kinda the theory on Powermax turbos, they don't over speed as easily.

Truck must run really strong at those boost levels.

What kind of compressor wheel are you running? 40psi has been known to be a reality in other trucks with different combinations.

32-35 psi can be achieved with stock injectors + turbo + custom tuning, so with your combo it's really spooling things up good.

Curious, what kind of max egt's are you seeing?

Maybe different custom tuning would help?

Second the EGT question. I assume you have studs that's allotta boost

Early 2004 F-250 4x4 CC 6.0


2nd owner, ARP studs 1 at a time, Some parts missing in the exhaust path, BD intercooler hoses, Blue spring, MC filters, Sinister coolant filter, Exhaust manifold gaskets, WARN lockouts, Gold coolant, zoodad mod, autometer boost gauge, high idle mod, Scangauge 2, SCT X3 tuned from KEM, autometer fuel pressure gauge, Archoil 6200 in the fuel, FICM by Ed w/ATLAS40, autometer pyro gauge,'08 Alum Rear Diff cover, 5w-40 Rotella T6 w/ Archoil 9100 in it, zert in the slip joint, harpooned fuel tank, 6.4 banjos


Not a diesel mechanic in real life but I play one on the Internet

The high boost is why I brought this up. Yes it is studded.
