I believe that you would be alright as long as you dont drive it hard all the time. Plus too, the bigger exhaust is going to cool the engine down more than it would with it stock exhaust. I would put gauges in the truck if it was mine though just to make sure and for piece of mind. Hope that will help you out.

if the 1704 and exhaust are the only mods you have go for it. as long as you dont pull or haul a max load and drive hard. you will be fine.

you definitly will be fine, we put 20K miles on our 05 excursion (mbrp exhaust) & 15Kmiles on our 04 Excursion (mbrp exhaust) on the performance setting with no problems and also without guages but my dads 05 F-350 with 11K miles ate a turbo because it got too hot so the dealer says and it also was set at performance with no guages. I personally would say go for it but just don't drive it like my dad drives his:roflmao:

:iagree gauges only work if you look at them and I never look, especially if I'm getting on it. I only look when I'm towing something and unless your hammering it when your towing you shouldn't be getting hot in fact my truck runs cooler with my tuner in extreme setting than stock when towing.

Is that an extreme street with lockup or extreme race with lockup?

You should be fine. I would suggest getting atleast an EGT gauge when you can. It wont break the bank for just the one gauge, and you will feel alot better about it. The 1704 wont make as much heat as the Innovative Diesel tunes alot of us run. Honestly, I beat the hell out of mine and I've never come to a point that I needed to let out of it. Towing you wont want to run her hard, but around town you SHOULD be ok. The EGT gauge will be money well spent.

I think my tune is before race or street extreme, I've had the same set of tunes forever, still running an xcal 1 if that tells you anything. On my paper that says tunes it just says extreme tune, neither race or street  .
