egt w/ street files?

what are your egts with an aggressive street file? i'm interested in normal driving conditions, no towing, maybe stomping on it once in awhile. do they ever get hot enough to cause problems? anyone running stock exhaust and intake w/ a hot street program? thanks in advance

I'm running Innovatives "street" tune. I think it's about 100hp. I have stock intake with the exception of the Zoodad mod and stock exhaust with a muffler delete. I can stand on it and the egt's will climb, but never get to a critical temp.
I tow my 27' boat with the street tune and climb a very steep grade coming back from the marina and I can still accelerate up the hill without the egt's getting over 1000deg. That's not at wide open throttle, but still accelerating.
You will have no probs with 100hp, not sure how you'll do with hotter tunes.

'04 F250 FX4, CC, SB, Zoodad, Innovative SCT XCal2, 4" MBRP, Airaid intake, 4" Superlift front with 5.5" Fabtech springs in back with stock 2" block delete, 18" predators with 35" Nitto's, Isspro gauges overhead. '00 27' Rinker Captiva Millinium, 454MPI Captains Call exhaust. '06 '33 Tahoe Transport. '03 Polaris Predator 500, K&N, WB pipe, '08 Polaris Outlaw 525 S.

It's tough to say, it's really dependent on who tunes your truck. A street file to some may be a high power file to others. I would expect 1250 degree's or so on our normal Street program. A higher power file, on a minor bolt on truck, may see 1400 for a few seconds.

The idea is not to sustain high temps for a long period of time. Short blasts are fine.

I have the MBRP with the cat delete pipe and I run ID's extreme street. I got it before I put in my EGT gauge. Once I got the pyro installed, I was glad that I hadn't "played" too hard without it. My temps may be a little on the high side though because of the tune I'm running. I got reflashed just before I bought the tuner, and we assumed the latest reflash for my original code was TNN0, so that is what Eric loaded on my SCT before shipping it to me. It loaded onto my truck just fine. A few months later after loading the latest firmware onto my SCT, I pulled my strategy and asked Eric to confirm it. Come to find out, I was actually reflashed to a ZHB1. Eric said these two strategies are very close, but sent me three new tunes written for ZHB1. I only tried the extreme street. My EGTs were much better, but my truck was shifting way too early with this new file. After getting Eric to compare the TNN0 and the ZHB1 side by side, he saw no real differnces as far as the changes they make. I put the TNN0 back in and now just watch my temps closley. From a spooled up 4x4 launch, I don't think it shifts to 3rd until 60-65 mph and by then my EGTs are in the "red" zone and climbing. I'm only in 3rd for a couple of seconds before I feel like I have to get out of it. I've been told that once it shifts to 4th the temps will start to drop, but I don't have the juevos to watch it go any higher.

with my ID street tune I don't think i've seen over 1100, but i'm usually hanging onto the wheel and trying to keep the monster straight

thanks a bunch guys. that's exactly what i was looking for, fireball especially, because that is how my truck is set up (except for the SCT, that is).

how are the temps for high speed on the freeway, like if you were doing 85-90 for an hour or 4? obviously im new to turbo diesels, and i just want to know what situations cause problems.

If I remember right they sat around 800 or so. Nowhere near a dangerous point. You could cruise at those speeds all day long.

At 70MPH the EGT was under 800*. Keith

I've got a 4" exhaust turbo back and now had to put stock intake back on cause of the newest reflash. But the highest I have seen was 1300 F but that was with a trailer loaded to about 13,000 lbs. and me standing into the throttle. On the street or race files I see 1100 F WOT then it goes back down. Cruising I see about 670 to 700 F at 70 to 75 mph.

1997 Dodge 2500 CUMMINS 5 spd 4x4, 16* timing, #10 plate, pump mods that make it go real hard, 3gsk, South Bend Con FE, studded and o-ringed, AEM Workhorse intake, Straight 4 inch exhaust into 6" Aussie tip Black powder coated stacks, modified turbo non wastegated now and the two big cowbells are now residing on my Goat. Smokes like a freight train and "Hey I got a goat finally!!!!!"

Now my wife's:2006 F-150 Crewcab XLT 4.6L V8 with every option available.

with my edge set on 5 going from 0-70 i get about 1300 degrees at 0-80 im at 1398. is that bad? I mean after 80 it starts cooling
