1805 Flashpaq Settings...

Hey all,

I just put my truck on the Performance setting and it really reacted great with my set up. Just a touch of the throttle and I'm moving.

Also, I noticed that the EGT's while normal driving actually seemed to be lower than when I'm in the Econo setting. Is this normal? When I get on it, it jumps up about the same maybe a tad hotter.

The MAIN difference is the smoke level. I parked and for kicks angled my mirror down to my tail pipe and I offically blew COAL for the first time!!!! laugh

Is running in the performance setting a good idea? will it hurt anything to run in the setting?? Thanks for any feedback... :deal:

running the high tune wont hurt anything as long as you dont haul or tow past the lbs superchips said. are you running in the performance mode or the new exstream mode?. ask dieseldocfx4 about the new exstream mode from flashpaq he has it in his truck and it rocks If you dont have that tune you can go to flashpaq.com and down load it free:Thumbup:

I have already down loaded the new extreme tune to my flashpaq, although I have not loaded it to the truck. I am assuming that I would get even more smoke with the extreme mode over the performance mode.

Currently I'm on the Economy tune and it doesn't smoke at all compared to the performance setting. I like the way the performance mode feels, but again it seems to smoke alot more like black coal!

What else do you have on your truck. Mod wise. My truck doesn't smoke that much just puts the fuel to the engine and comes out as power. Maybe a little smoke nothing like when I had an edge. I am very happy with my flashpaq not the most hp or tq rating but very safe and does a good job with the tranny. Extreme tune is awesome but I am wondering if the performance mod isn't better. I am going to have to do some check and get back to you on that. Good luck and don't be affraid to run the chit out of it when your not towing.

Everything look fine with what you are doing. The perf can be hotter because of the increase in power.

I just got my new FlashPAQ installed and would like to try the Extreme tune. When I run the update software it looks like the only thing available is redline tune. It looks like it is an extra $100 also. Where can I get the extreme tune for free?

Thanks,

When going to the extreme tune just driving around your truck will run a little cooler...think about it...there is more power in the motor so it doesn't have to struggle near as hard to scoot around. I always run mine on the performance tune.

As for how much weight you can tow on any given tune. Best way I know to test is just tow on that tune and watch all your gauges. If you start getting too hot then your towing too much weight on that tune. The vendors do their best guess and often time undershoot on weights that are safe to tow on any given tune...I don't blame them one bit because there are people who will go out there and buy tuners and not put gauges and have no way of monitoring what's going on in the motor...
