Just wanted to throw out a big THANK YOU to DJ and Vivian and DJ Diesel Performance.
After getting reflashed (again), I was having trouble getting a tune for my truck (started as a HBX2 and now a SBS3.....maybe). So DJ and Vivian invited me up to Gainesville, FL to do some fine tuning on my file.
Stock, with an intake and exhaust, I went 16.8 at 78 mph.
1/4 16.821 @ 78.56
My first run on the new and improved tune? I made a rookie mistake and forgot to put it into 4x4......and couldn't get it to hook up through 60'. Seriously, I was lighting the tires up from a 30mph roll and had to engage the 4wd at 60' to get some momentum.
Next time I remembered 4x4............and spun all 4 tires
Ended up with a 15.1 on that pass.
Last run of the day, and determined to break into the 14's, I didn't boost as much and knocked 2/10's of a sec of my 60' time (from the 15.1 pass). I was lined up against a Silverado SS extended cab and really wanted to smoke him. I went a 14.9 to his 15.9. He was so embarrassed that he wouldn't drive anywhere close to me when we were coming back to the parking lot.
My run time:
1/4 14.902 @ 88.42 mph
After this pass, they gave me another file that should knock a little more off my ET. Very, very happy with DJ, Vivian, and their crew.
Not too bad considering I have 35" tires (almost) on 20's, 3.73 rear, a full size spare, a 1/4 tank of diesel, train horns with a compressor and 5 gal tank, and a 400 lb cap on the back. With a better launch and less weight, I should be in the 14.5 range easily.
