First Time pulling truck!!

hay guys just wanted to know if im headed in the right direction here! I got an 04 crew cab dually 6.0 with and SCT programmer cfm large mouth intake kit and s+b intake, and i cut the stock muffler out and put in a straight pipe.

Now i am goin to the truck pulls this coming friday night, and did i mention that its goin to be my first time pulling? I was planning on starting out in 4hi and putting the truck in 2 gear with the programmer in the agressive tow mode!

Any helpful tips would help, Thanks!!!!

Do not use 4hi...use 4low. I've always used 4low and started in 2nd gear, then when it tached out i shifted to 3rd. I've heard alot of guys just leaving it in D(drive) and just let the tranny shift on it's own. But definitly use 4low. There's a local hometown pull in my area this sunday and am debating on pulling or not. Haven't decided, but it's been a couple years since i last pulled.

Yes, use 4low. And use your highest HP setting to get the best out of your truck.

tire air pressure is another big thing to watch. keep the back tires relatively hard and drop the front ones some.

drop the fronts down to around 20psi, manually lock your front hubs, use your hottest tune, do a boosted launch, and as stated above 4lo-3rd or drive, not 4hi. give her hell!!!

OK put it in 4lo 2nd gear (since you have a dually you will need to start in a lower gear because of more bite) HOLD THE BRAKES and make about 15+ psi of boost then let off and the brakes and floor it. once you get going a little watch the tach and once it gets to about 4k rpm manually shift it into third and keep her pinned till you stop moving. Also use the performance tune

Just another 6leaker Thanks to RCD
