Is this new strategy relaxing some of the inductive heating in the FICM? I wonder what they've changed as there hasn't been a new flash for these truck in a couple years.

2005-6L/PSD F-250 Lariat CC/SB/4x4:
- MBRP 4" turbo back, Dieselsite coolant bypass filter, Frantz oil bypass filter, X-monitor, Fluidampr, fuel x-over line, intake elbow, EGR cooler delete, wrapped headers and turbo, ARP studs, OEM gaskets, ported heads and manifolds to match, Hot FICM w/ ID Flash, 08+ tranny pan/filter.

Sounds like when the truck starts instead of the injectors full time heating the oil with the spool valve it cycles real quickly. I had the previous inductive heating flash on my 04 and just got my 06 updated with the new flash and those are the differences I noticed.

do you think there is and difference in power or MPG's that you noticed? i have the Inductive Heating from last year but not the newest one. My truck runs great the way it is and I have a few custom tunes for my strategy so I am thinking if it's worth paying for the new flash? i did fry my FICM last year soon after the IH flash so I'm hoping that was just a coincedence.

Its not a coincidence, the earlier inductive heating strategy put too much stress on the FICM power circuitry, the new one is easier on it.

Makes sense. I fried a FICM shortly having the inductive heat flash installed.

if and when....

what would be the best way to do it to save you FICM. get the dealership to give you the new flash (out of warranty probably cost me $100) or send my FICM to Innovative? they can put whatever strategy they want right? and tune it for power or MPG's?? i'm thinking option number 2 but just wanted to make sure. also i have custom tunes that i paid for so changing my strategy would cost more than just getting the new flash, i would need to buy new tunes again..
