Running a stock tuned truck with an EGR delete on

Hey guys. What would happen if I ran a truck that will be stock except for an EGR delete. Not the full delete just the up pipe. Will it throw a code and if it does will it be ok to run the truck or will it throw it into limp mode? Thanks Ryan.
If any innovative guys see this shoot me a PM to try and get a tune sent over for this. He is running your tunes right now for injectors and turbo.

I've ran the stock tune on my truck with the EGR deleted. I do have a couple other things done but it will only throw a CEL for insufficient EGR flow. Other than the light it runs fine.

depends on what year the truck is. if it is a late 04 and up it may throw a code. it can be turned off through an SCT though. but i dont think you will have any issues even if you do throw a code. i definitely wont throw it into limp mode

Ryan, depends on the year of the truck. An '03 and early '04 wont throw a CEL, but a later '04-07 will throw a CEL for insufficent egr flow. I still have my egr cooler but blocked off my up-pipe on my truck just like you have described and no CEL. However i did the same thing to my buddy's '05 and his truck threw a CEL until we put a SCT on it, but it never went into limp mode. It ran just fine with the CEL until we got the SCT for it. Hope this helps.

my 06 threw a light and it affected drivability, less power and more turbo lag.

i'm interested in this too. why to some people say the truck will run fine and just throw a light and others say they loose power and it goes into this epa limp mode because of the cel for low egr flow.
just wondering. . .

ive never heard of anyone's truck going into a limp mode from throwing the cell.

my 06 with a complete egr delete, and stock tuning throws the CEL, and it was commanding 77% fuel at idle, smoked A LOT under any kind of throttle, and almost stalled when put in drive from park...

wow. i wonder what mine would do. i don't think i have ran it with the pure stock tune. i think i tried the free spartan stock+ and my innovative tune has the egr delete in mind. this is why i wonder why some trucks or owners say they work and some others say it doesn't. maybe it's just these crazy 6leakers

I have been running my truck now for over a month with dfusers egr delete kit with no tuning. All i have is a CEL but no limp mode.
