Trans filter and fluid insight

Which fluid do I need, how much....I will most likely be dropping the pan and replacing both filters.

Can you get the filters at international?

Any special procedures needed to do the change?

sp trans fluid from dealer.I think it's 8qts to refill the pan
i'm not sure about international

when you pull out the filter in the pan make sure the rubber o-ring seal comes out with it,and I think the trans pan gasket is reusable

I don't think you can get the trans filter from IH. You can get it from dieselfiltersonline.com though at a better price than the dealer..

Go buy your Mercon SP from O'rilies Auto Parts if there's one near you -- it's WAY cheaper there than the dealer. $3 something per qt -- Part # is MERCON SP

I need to change my fluids also but I'm worried that if I change it my tranny will kill over. the last time the tranny was serviced was at 40k and I now have 152k. Will I experience any issues if I change my fluid?

You'll only experience problems if you don't change it! Trust me, your tranny will thank you.
