Quadzilla Exhiliarator 1

I got a 04 6.0 and I just got in touch with a guy whos selling a Quadzilla Exhiliarator (the 1st edition) It isnt a huge chip or anything but its plug and play and it produces 65hp and like 165 ft lbs. The price is $50 and the guy seams pretty legit and hes located here in my area so I can just pick it up.

Are these decent chips?

Is this goin to be a noticeable difference in power? I am not talkin bout 1/4mile times in the 10's... lol just when its fired up am I gonna notice more "balls" when I get on it?

Any Horror stories (tranny's gettin fried, blown heads, anything)

For $50 its a pretty good deal am I right?

Anything to check for to make sure this bad boy functions properly before I give up my $50 and drive 1.5hrs back home? lol He seams pretty legit and was super cool on the phone but I dont wana lose $50 for somethin thats broke cuz I was to stupid to check it out. Lost $50 is aproximately 5 18packs of busch lite...

Well since your last post, you stated that you were college broke,But thiers alway a way to get beer!
IMO, If funds are that tight I would not put any programer or power adder if I were you. These 6.0 can blow thier head gaskets I stock form,So when you start adding more power and making the cylinder pressure climb, your taking a bigger risk of blowing your head gaskets.

These trucks are not cheap to repair, If your not willing or unable to fork out $$$$ for an exhaust, then you will not like the cost of repairing HG, among other possible issuse that come along with adding power.

Really? I knew that the headgaskets were iffy on these badboys and yeah I definately dont want any issues then cuz I still have another 2 more years of school and Janelle will kick my a** if I break the truck we use on a daily basis. I should probably just stick wit the exhaust then. I was actually kinda in the middle of the road bout gettin it anyways it seemed almost 2 good 2 b true ($400 chip for 50 bucks) and I was kinda sketchy with moddin my truck too much anyways as I dont no all that much about em and I didnt wanna destroy anything cuz like you said DIESELS ARE EXSPENSIVE... but God they are worth every penny! haha Thanks for the input!

Due to your finances, play it as safe as possible. If, and when, you are ready look int SCT. Most around here use it with great results. Chris

SCT is a flash tuning unit that programs your truck with alternate programming, generic or custom. Basically a "Tuner" Check the SCT Web Site for some information. I use Innovative Diesel for my tuning. Good Luck, Chris

If you really want a Quadzilla. Pay the shipping and I'll "give" you mine. Just beware that it will cost you a transmission within 20000 miles. Trust me I went thru two trannies. Get an SCT. Much safer and your tranny will like you.

why are these things so bad on trannys? Is that 165 ft lbs of torque that much of a killer? Dang thanks alot guys I had no idea these were that unstable I figured it was an easy entry level chip that would be harmless I never wouldve guessed these were that bad, it sounds like there almost as rough on trannys as the edge juice.

As far as I know sct is the only one that controls the tranny( pressure, shift points, TC lock up,ect) where as most other tuners just add power to the motor. That can cause the clutchs to slip and wear, eventually tearing up the trans. But don't quote me on that.
