ooooohhhh boy here we go

Do a search and you'll see a bunch. Most that have had Banks say there is a shift flare. Shift flare would be associated with slipping being allowed as it goes into the next gear. So the Banks having a lot to do with the junked transmission would make sense.

That being said, I have never had any of the Gay-Banks stuff on any rig I've ever had. My previous statement comes from what I have read.

In a possible defense, I had on my 03 Ford 7.3L a banks 115 chip in it. It always ran great with great shifting. I sold the truck with 125K miles on it and it still had the original tranny I even pulled a 5th wheeler. That being said I just installed the SCT X3 on my 07 Ford and wow what a difference that has made. Love it. I will never go back.

6.0 and 7.3 trucks as I am sure you know are two completely different animals... Especially when it comes to tuning.

banks tuning up to the 6 gun is basically a glorified 10k mod. sure there is a little more to it but then again it was basically smoke and mirrors with the computer. they have a new tuning product comming out but it still dosent sound any better. the only banks product i would put on my truck well two..... first would be a technicooler and the second would be a banks power sticker directly under calvin... urinating

had the 6 gun on for 10K miles. terrable shifting, didnt feel right and I towed a bit when I had it on. now, dont tow but once a month and have sct, makes a huge difference but my transmission is shot. been that way for a while and i figure it is because of the banks. they add more fuel , do not tune the trans. to handle the power.
