SCT

I just picked up a XCAL2 for $150 with 4 unlocks left. I will be getting some gauges from Diesel Manor and then I will be trying it out. I went through this with the 7.3l and a DP Tuner F5. Unfortunately I blew up the tranny then bought the 6.0. I hope I have better results with the SCT and the 6.0 since I just went out of warranty with miles. Actually the truck is in the shop now getting the new flash and a good once over.
Just wanted to let the gang know that they have converted another one over to a SCT!!!!!

I tow a 16-17,000lb toyhauler (about once every other month) and live in FL. Probably will only get as far north as SC with the toyhauler. What do you guys suggest for a tow tune (if any). What about the other 2 tunes. Truck is STOCK except for the zoodad mod. This is also a daily driver. I will be straight piping it this weekend.

If you don't have head studs, and you plan on towing that much weight, I recommend using the stock file with the trans only tune!

Someone will chime in, I only tow a 8k 5er, so I prefer to use the tow/haul on the column.

I love the exhaust brake option while towing anything, If I tune my truck to tow I always turn on the brake amazing how well it works, I have found it works best with the truck in tow haul mode cause it will also downshift at the correct points and seems to help the brake work much better. I did try to use the brake once just driving around but it didnt work so well! Hope this helps! Depending on who your getting ur tunes from just tell them wat you tow and how much weight and they can write you a custom tune for just that to keep all your parameters in check!! Hope this helps
