egr cooler

what is the cheapest way to delete the egr cooler

06 4dr f-350 lariat with 8.5in lift 20x14 welds 37in tires, sct with dj's tune straight pipe recon lights, HIDs

Yup, take it off and weld plugs into both ends of it and be done with it.

going to ford next week to get some studs put in and havind the egr weld. thnks for the info

This is what the Ford tech told me to do

I got a bad cooler from the dealer to weld up. Seemed the cheapest route and pretty bullet proof

2006 f250 4x4
crewcab lariat
auto elec tcase
soon to have
isspro egt/boost/trans/fuel

as well as pretty much
everything else

The best thing is to have it completely removed, but that isn't the cheapest way to go! I had the plugs put in mine. Great way to go. Also, if you have warranty on the engine still, there is no way to detect it unless someone goes looking for it. Don't forget to get the egr turned off by your tunes if you have it. Keep in mind, if you are in the Winter States you'll have to plug your truck in at night. It blows quite a bit more smoke in the morning if you hadn't plugged it in, although I'm not to sure if that's a result of the egr block off or the tunes. I did both at the same time.

I ordered the complete delete kit from River City for $350, They said over time the welds will eventually leak by.
